Greenway’s mission relies on creating and maintaining a diverse, inclusive, community of students, faculty and staff who can work collaboratively to make ourselves, our communities, and our world a better place.

Equity at Greenway
At Greenway, we strive to create an environment where all members of our community can thrive regardless of their educational background or prior experience. We strive to continuously evaluate our outcomes to ensure they reflect equal opportunity, achievement and support for all members of our community. For us, equity involves a commitment to produce fair outcomes and a more diverse environment.
Greenway’s Equity-Oriented Programs
We operate with a foundation of equity and sustainability, and EVERYTHING we do is designed around these two principles. To achieve more equitable outcomes in our community, we incorporate the following in all of our operations:
- Universal Design: By creating academic systems and structures that support all types of learners, we will improve the educational experience of all students.
- Team Based Learning: Team-based learning is key to an equitable education. We recognize that teamwork will capitalize on students’ strengths and give us opportunities to address any gaps in preparation or experience. Universal Design: We believe that creating academic systems and structures that support non-traditional learners will improve the educational experience of all students.
- Mentoring: Students participate in mentor groups: a close-knit groups of fellow students, faculty and professional engineers.
- Student Centered Design: Our engineering curriculum is entirely hands-on and project-based with the goal of boosting students’ performance, engagement, and sense of purpose.
- Diverse & Inclusive Community: Greenway faculty, staff and students represent the diverse cultures, beliefs and passions of our state and nation to create a welcoming environment and build a future that works for everyone.
- Evaluation & Improvement: Our extensive self-evaluation processes ensure that we are doing everything possible to secure the success of all of our students.
- Financial Independence: Greenway is committed to providing financial support to students and graduates so that they can pursue their engineering passions without the yoke of financial hardship.
- Entrepreneurship: We want our students to not only design sustainable solutions, but also implement them in their communities. We support students who choose to pursue an entrepreneurial venture.
