Our friends at Norwich Solar invited us to participate in Green Up Day with them in Montpelier. For those that may not be familiar with Green Up Day:
Green Up Vermont’s mission is to promote the stewardship of our state’s natural landscape and waterways, and the livability of our communities by involving people in Green Up Day while raising public awareness about the health, economic, and visual benefits of a litter-free environment year-round.
The Montpelier Parks & Trees Department invited us to work at the Old Shelter in Hubbard Park. Hubbard Park has more than 200 acres and is one of the city’s most popular parks.
We were given a substantial task list and were excited to tackle them all.
Our tasks included:
- Trash pickup
- Re-painting of picnic tables, brick fireplace & grills
- Railing installation
- Spreading fresh mulch around the shelter
- Splitting firewood
We can’t wait to do this again! Send us a note if you want to join us for our next Green Up outing!
