A group from Greenway & Elizabethtown College recently spent a packed two-day visit learning about the program and meeting the faculty, facilitators, and students. The program was started in 2009 as a project-based program for 3rd and 4th year engineering students and underwent a major revision in 2019 to include a work-integrated model.

Total Eclipse At The Fairbanks Museum

Eclipse Party

Our friends at Norwich Solar were very generous to share their table at the Fairbank Museum & Planetarium Sun+Moon+You event celebrating the eclipse on Monday, April 8th. As with most events in the path of totality across the state, the number of attendees greatly exceeded expectations. Greenway program manager, Hannah Root, was able to share the joy of engineering with young people from across the northeast and beyond.

Visitors to the Norwich Solar/Greenway table were able to tinker with a mini solar panel and a variety of mini electronics. There’s nothing better than the excitement of making a motor go using the power of the sun! Particularly for young kids who have never made a circuit before! Thanks to Norwich Solar for sharing their space with Greenway and to all of the visitors who shared in the joy of engineering during the eclipse.
