The Fall 2023 Sustainability Semester wrapped up with one final Career Trek last week. Greenway Students visited robotic start-up Rigorous in Williston, Vermont.
A senior mechanical engineer put together a presentation for Greenway students about the process of engineering an idea. Students were able to examine blueprints for the attachment that Rigorous created to go on the end of a robotic arm, and learn about the considerations that went into their design.
A Rigorous software developer put together a demonstration of the robotic arm’s movement for Greenway students. They explained that they work with a six-axis robotic arm which allows for limitless motion in all directions. We even got to see a note that the robotic arm wrote – it said “hello”!
Overall, the Greenway team really connected with the start-up mentality at Rigorous, since we are in the same phase. We are excited to see how the Rigorous team continues to forge new paths in the robotics realm.
